Words are like spells, they are arrows guiding the focus of our subconscious and conscious minds. Where our focus is, our energy is, our creative life force is.
Words are also conjurors. Bringing forth a river of momentum that we can allow ourselves to flow into. To be carried by, to places illumination, of healing, of alignment. The intention of these song/spell/prayers is to be a different kind of medicine chest. To re-align and recalibrate. To bring sound and words intentionally together as an opening. They’ve been sung by others in healings, in weddings, in group ceremony, in solo meditations. My biggest hope is that they are sung by individuals as needed as remedies and passed along. Many of them are very short, and are meant to be repeated, like mantras- they are made to get stuck in our heads. To be arrows guiding us back to our wholeness. These remedies are not afraid of whatever you are going through, they are here to walk with you, through it.
These songs were created through me, but not "written". I use my instruments more like a sacred bridge with Spirit, as an opportunity to open myself when there is a need, and connect with whatever medicine and guidance wants to flow through. You can read more about the origin of each song at the bottom of the page.
The recordings shared here are just the seeds of these songs. They are meant to be living, breathing creations when they flow through you. When you allow your own voice to carry them through your cells, your lungs, into the open air. The medicine is there too, in the opening of yourself to your own voice. To the healing nature of sound, resonating inside of your body. You do not have to have a "good" voice to sing. Popular culture has directed our ideas about our voices to ones of judgement, and approval from others. For thousands of years, voices in song have been used in most cultures in community, prayer, ceremony, celebration, honoring, healing, belonging. We are reclaiming this sacred instrument and opportunity that we were all given. Reclaiming it's purpose, from approval, to connection.
In these recordings, supporting you, you'll hear the White Salmon River on a November morning, as well as stones being struck together, from Ojai, California, near where I took the pilgrimage to assemble these songs. You will hear a huge temple bell that lives on a random intersection in Northeast Portland, and wind and ice in trees during a destructive winter storm that was happening in the Northwest, while I was in California, and I had a friend send the audio to be woven in, in real time. I incorporated many nature recordings from my phone, captured in potent moments, over the last year.
There are sunlit wild grasses from my journey, my own footsteps, and my raw heart, to be offered in sound here. There is air, fire, earth and water. As well as the spirit collaboration of two friends, with four days in a tiny home studio, to weave and weave and weave all these pieces together, held by the ocean and the mountains outside our windows.
I am deeply grateful to the people who have reflected back to me, over the past two years, the importance of these songs in their lives, after I started sharing a few on social media and in person in my community. It helped me to understand their purpose and to have the confidence to open and be the channel for these words and melodies to come through.
It helped me to understand that these songs are activations, revelations, and healing opportunities for others- that even one line, can be used by someone to transmute and reform something. It helped me understand that my purpose is to open myself this way, scatter the song seeds to the wind, and that they have beautiful, alchemical work to do on their own.

Song Origins
RIVER / 2020
Written in a Seattle hotel room during a wildfire crisis that made the air unhealthy to breathe in Portland. My daughter was in the hotel room next to mine, we had to quarantine from eachother due to a global pandemic. This song is about what does not change. The Divine, Love, Truth. |
EVERYTHING IS OPEN / 2019
A dear friend was needing an energy shift after a relationship ended. This remedy asked us to open all the windows and doors to his house, and sing, rattle and drum in every corner. It's for clearing in any situation, on the inner or outer planes. |
I SEE YOU / 2018
This remedy helps me to tap into my mindfulness, my ‘curiousity in connection’ to whatever I direct it toward. A child, a partner, a landscape, a friend, a tree, a bird, a cup of tea, a challenging part of myself or an intense feeling that I’m having. Whatever I choose to sing it to, it taps me directly into both reverence and acceptance for the innate wisdom held there. |
HEARING FEAR/ 2018
This was the year I learned to provide safe passage for my feelings. To let them pass through me and offer them the gift of my physical body as a place to transmute energy. Whether I understood them with my mind or not. Whether that meant sobbing, running, laying on the earth, dancing, sitting against a tree, asking to be held in silence. Any feeling or concept can be subtituted in this song for support: Shame, Pain, Grief, Wound, Unknown, Anger... |
I RELEASE YOU / 2021
This remedy is for energetic cord-cutting. It is to bring your power and energetic parts back to you and release a relationship or dynamic that is not supporting the highest, healthiest, most whole version of you. |
HERES TO THE ONES / 2019
This song is an honoring of people who have died. Who no longer feel human fear and are on their divine way. It is also for the ones they left here. Honoring us all. And dedicated to my mama and my children's' father who held our families together with unending devotion and joy, and both departed suddenly in 2019. |
FIND YOUR WAY / 2018
For trusting the deep inner knowing, that you will find your way. Even through the darkest night. You are held. |
IN THE WAKING / 2020
This song came through as remedy for the uncertainty of the pandemic, lockdown, and personal and societal shifts in 2020. It came to offer the reassurance that when what we are standing on gets broken down, we then rebuild from a new perspective. |
I AM THE FLAME / 2018
For Truth, From Truth. How deeply will we listen? How close will we get? How deeply will we let life touch us and teach us? How aware and awake will we choose to be? How deeply will we engage, expand and connect? |
DIRECTIONS + ELEMENTS / 2011
It was 2011. I was in a college athropology class, as a newly single parent of young kids, where the professor happened to be a Celtic Shaman, and was waking up the masses to other ways of being and connecting, in her courses. It was kind of a genius move. For our final project we were asked to create and present a ceremonial object to the class. That was the first time since I was a child, that I allowed myself to tune in, and open my voice to intuitive words and melodies in the moment. |
LET THERE BE LIGHT / 2020
A prayer to bring our awareness to what really matters. I met a dear soul friend and mama of a young boy in her last few months of life, in 2020. This was also the time when there started to be greater mainstream awareness and listening around racial injustice, and loss of life at the hands of police in America. This song is a reminder to bring to consciousness the needs all humans have, for love, for peace, for being seen, for awareness, for truth and justice. A prayer for a society that prioritizes these needs. May illumination flow through the tears, may all feel safe and deeply loved. May we work to make it so. Every day. |
WINGS OUT WIDE/ 2018
A call to listen to our soul callings, as individuals. As a collective. It's time. |
